THE REWARD OF HARD WORK IS MORE WORK!

I relocated to Lagos in 2010 and felt the impact of your governance directly. It touched me personally. I have never met you before. I may never meet you.
But I met you through your works.
Fashola, you were an excellent Governor.
Whenever you discussed issues of governance, it went beyond a mere discussion. It is usually an intellectual harvest.
One year after I came here during the 2011 elections, voting for you gave me immense pleasure and pride.
Fashola, you are not a perfect man nor a perfect leader. Such leaders don't exist in this world.
You didn't touch everywhere in Lagos. No leader can touch everywhere, anyways.
But today, Lagos is filled with your signature projects.
The Magnificent Lekki Ikoyi Bridge...
The Okota Isolo Link Bridge...
The Lekki Flyover...
The Mile 12 Ikorodu 12 Lane road project...
Countless road projects...
The Lekki Epe Road Project...
And many others
Fashola, under you, Lagos traffic was efficiently managed.
Under you Fashola, lives and properties of Lagosians were secure. The Police was well equipped and motivated here. At most junctions, you will find well managed Police Vehicles which gave citizens the feeling of security.
Since you left, we no longer move freely in Lagos.
Traffic gridlocks everywhere.
Since you left Fashola, areas boys and robbers who rob people in traffic are back.
The difference between is indeed clear.
Fashola, you also had your faults.
That borehole issue...
That issue of signing cheques...
There could be others...
You must rise above such petty issues.
You are a brilliant man and a great leader.
You inspire confidence.
Because of you, it was easy to accept Buhari as my candidate.
The realization that you will work with Buhari made his choice easy breezy for me.
Buhari trusts you. So do I and other millions of Nigerians.
As you mount the leadership of this all important ministry of Power, Works and Housing, may you shine like a million stars.
May you give us signature road projects.
Give us bridges that will be historical monuments.
May you find workable solutions to our seemingly intractable power challenges.
I don't care what anyone says about you.
My view is that you are one of the brightest stars of our current democracy.
As a lawyer, you make me feel incredibly proud. You have shown that lawyers are excellent administrators.
Take a bow my own man.
Babatunde Raji Fashola, Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
Two Time Governor of Lagos State.
Honorable Minister for Power, Works and Housing.
