PSSDC SIGNS MOU WITH LASU ON CAPACITY BUILDING


In a bid to strengthen and add value to the already existing collaboration between the Lagos State University (LASU) and the Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC), a Memorandum of Understanding, themed ‘THE LASU-PSSDC COLLABORATION’ has been signed by both organizations
According to the MoU, the parties seek to collaborate in the provision of learning, capacity building and management development programmes, including the Diploma Programme in Local Government Administration (resident in the Faculty of Management Sciences of LASU and the Directorate of Management Consultancy Services of PSSDC) and other allied capacity building interventions, such as conferences, seminars, workshops, among others.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of LASU, Professor Olanrewaju Fagbohun stated that the collaboration is a unique pyramid aimed at adding value to the State, stressing that the collaboration is historical as many generations, especially from the Local Government Sector, would benefit from it.
Olanrewaju reiterated that both organisations have demonstrated that government agencies can leverage on existing relationship among them to bring about growth and development in the state.
He, therefore, advised both parties to be transparent and committed in the process of implementation, in order to overcome initial challenges, adding also that proper documentation of files should be done for posterity.
In her remarks, the Director General of PSSDC, Mrs. Olubunmi Fabamwo said the Centre has always advocated optimization of resources in the state to improve the wellbeing of staff especially those in the Local Government that would benefit immensely from the collaboration.
She said that both parties understand perfectly the big project and will work assiduously to achieve the purpose, adding that the Centre had informed the Ministry of Establishment and Pensions and Local Government Service on the partnership as major stakeholders.
